Neighbor Rant!!

WSC-- This is why I advocate shoot to kill... be it a 2 legged varmint or a 4 legged one. Shooting to injure a dog will get you a cruelty to animals charge.. which carries more time than manslaughter or murder depending on the state. Honestly? I love the skunk idea... Trap the dog, wipe it all over with Limburger cheese, feed it garlic and send it home. Not only will the dog stink, his emissions will as well. If you are really cheeky about it, we have a member here who spray painted a bullseye on a neighbors dog

Sounded like their neighbor got the message!

PS, what you do with your lad is your business. If they aren't paying for the view.. well, sucks to be them. Long crowers n a pig pen on the property line sound good... but I'm evil, don't listen to me.

I am surprised the excavator would do anything for a person he was NOT paid by.I would bve like,"What the heck is going on here? Are you paying me for the mulch you just stole and gave to my neighbors?" I guess in the future I would make it clear to anyone I hired to not talk with the neighbors while working on your land,or do anything with your property per their instructions.

For the view comment I would have just said,"Stop looking this way." They can plant their own darn trees.
Llama would require a call to AC.Hopfully your area has a law in the books about how an owner is responsible for keeping their pets/livestock contained.

I would shoot the dog.Plain and simple you could get thrown by your horse if he is nipping at the legs.Better the dog dead than you.The neighbors surely know that this is a risk,so warning them will only escalate the sistuation.Lol,good thing they aren't lawyers.

I heard that pets that rub up against posion ivy will carry those oils into the home and expose their owners.

A large open compost heap is acceptable use of the land.Do it right and it won't stink, but the view is something only a composter could appreciate.

I would've fired the excavator, or at the very least, called his employer & told them you werent paying for the time he was working for your neighbor. Then, when all was said & done, tell the neighbor they needed to put all of the mulch BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM and they could either do it by hand...or hire the excavator!

The poison ivy on the dog does work but the owners have to be allergic to the ivy to get it. I know get it at least once a year from my dogs, no one else in the house does but me

Your neighbors sound like a piece of work. Dont let them start to dictate to you about your property or they wont stop. Tell them this is my property not yours and if you didnt want neighbors or changes you should have bought the property before I did.

I think now that fall weather is coming, manure is good, the closer to the house the better. If you live near the ocean, a load of seaweed might work well....especially when it starts to rot. Make sure it is placed as close to the house as possible.

Or make sure your contractor has an accident or two with the dozer, resulting in long, deep gouges in their front yard.

For the barrier between the homes...I suggest a lovely pyracantha hedge, espalliered to display the wonderful red berries. The thorns might even deter the dogs. You might underplant the pyracantha with the poison ivy. PI is pretty in the fall, when it starts to turn red.
