Neighbor sprayed poison...

Neighbor sprayed poison yesterday afternoon to kill moles. I’m not positive what type it was. I put the chickens up while it was sprayed and the rest of the night. Last night it rained .96 inches good soaking rain. My husband said it should be okay to let them out.(one of my ladies is an escape artist and we were worried about her) I came home from work today and couldn’t find her....of course she had got out and into the neighbors yard. I’m silently freaking out inside....can anyone ease my mind??? I’m so worried about her....

Are you sure that he sprayed a poison? or could it have been a repellent?
Most of the over the counter stuff seems to be a repellent with various versions of caster oil. Idea is to make the gophers move elsewhere - like the neighbors yards, lol.

No sure it was poison. He said that it was stuff one of his farmer buddies have him. He had to specifically wait until we would have a good soaking rain. My husband said it should be okay but I’m still loosing my mind lol...

I am going to guess that he sprayed Milky Spore, which is non-toxic and works by killing the grubs that the gophers are eating. That is the only thing that I can find that would be sprayed for gophers.
If he had to wait until right before a hard rain, then it is designed to soak into the ground and I would guess that your hen will be alright.

I'm unaware of any poison that one could spray for moles.

Some people are inexact in their terminology. Neither castor oil or milky spore could be considered poison.

Is your neighbor OK with your chickens on their property?

You could go and get your hen from your neighbors yard. To be frank it shouldn't be there.
