Neighbor vs. my chickens 0-1

We have a neighbor form h_ _ _ too! Sounds just like yours. She lives four houses down and pesters everyone. When we were looking at buying the neighbors warned us of her, we thought well she's four houses down it's ok. She is CRAZY!!! She has stole four of our cats, set traps on our property in the middle of the night to catch our cats and our neighbors. She truly loves to make people miserable. I cannot imagine how miserable she is. She has stoled so many cats from us and others around here - she has 26 cats! She took one of our cats, it escaped and came back so mean we couldn't touch it, he was so mean after being with her we thought he'd attack our son. We told her that and she came flying in our driveway, grabbed him and peeled out. She thought I wasn't home. I know this sounds unreal, but it's true. She is like the perfect movie bad guy in a kid's flick: mean, yells at kids and always calls the sherriff on people. Wew!! I feel better now, sorry to rant. I feel your pain!

We have a lady like this in our neighborhood! She steals outdoor cats, and she has a billion of them in her home. She says leaving your cat outside is abuse. She also believes letting a small child have an cat is abuse, and tries to take the cats of anyone she knows that has children. It's really messed up.

She also feeds a large number of strays down at the gutter every night at dusk, and she wears a big fluffy russian style fur hat year round, and she carries a large wooden cross. The cross is probably 3 feet tall. She's kind of creepy.

I am always so terrified she will get my cats. I have 4. Only one goes outside, but sometimes the others escape by accident. My grandparents live a couple blocks away in my neighborhood, and their neighbors two outdoor cats disappeared recently. She cut off their collars and left them on the front porch of their house. They've never seen the cats since. The cat lady makes me SO angry! She got evicted from the place in our neighborhood where she used to live, and now she lives somewhere else but she still comes back every day to feed the strays and cat nap outdoor cats. She hung up signs in our neighborhood saying that landlords were capturing outdoor cats and taking them to the pound, but people saw HER hanging those signs...it's so odd.

can you call animal control on her. most places have a number of animals a person can have but she seems crazy, and to protect the animals she does have I would call animal control. can you set up a granny cam and use it in court as proff of her being out of control, where is her family? she sounds like she really needs help. marrie

I called animal control on our crazy cat lady and they said she can have as many as she wants. There are no laws in our township on amount. Our cat lady was a probation officer for teens - poor kids I can only imagine how mean she was to them. Our police dept. here is not real helpful either. One officer was arrested for murder last year, our chief or captain is being investigated for some crime. So really it's best to just try to keep to ourselves. Our other neighbors feel just the same and we get along very well with the others around here. So hopefully she'll move soon!!!

I also called on our cat lady. Nothing happened. They said she can have as many cats as she wants and there's not really any way to implicate her for stealing outdoor cats.

Ok...can I 'borrow' one of your crazy old cat stealing ladies? PLEASE? I've been known to take in a stray or two...AFTER posting "found" signs all over the place! But I could REALLY use one of these crazy old ladies to help out my "problem" kitties!
My neighbors' cats have decided they are going to come over in our yard....spray all over MY veggie garden, menace our chickens (my ONLY outdoor cat doesn't seem to care about the chickens at all), attack MY cat in OUR yard, and poops in our yard. Her OTHER cat likes to attack my cat, sleep in our cars, jump into the other neighbors yard and eggs on the dogs, poop in our other neighbors' yard etc. Did I mention my neighbor with the two "indoor/outdoor" cats has no collars on either of them, and from what I can tell...doesn't really feed them either. They come over and eat MY cats' food (unless I stand by her and chase the two freeloaders away). So far...they're SMART enough to NOT let me get a hold of either of them. (Cause they WOULD be going for a ride to another county....)
Don't get me wrong...I LOVE cats....and they ARE hard to 'contain'....but at LEAST TRY!!!! Our cat pretty much doesn't leave our yard all that much...she likes to hang out under the arbor in the back yard AND she's microchipped AND wears a collar! (She's also had her vaccinations...whereas my neighbor didn't want to 'waste the money' on a vet for her kitties!).
Hmmm....as for implicating the crazy cat lady and her night time "rescues"...surveillance video can come in REAL handy! But honestly...ANYONE who starts 'hoarding' animals is not 'healthy' upstairs. Animal Control SHOULD be checking on SANITATION issues. So they can have 500 animals....AS LONG AS IT IS SANITARY for both animals AND humans! If Animal Control won't do anything...what about the Dept of Health or something like that? If there's an odor OUTSIDE the home...that's DEFINITELY something to consider as well....could cause respiratory illness for the animals, lady AND neighbors.
GOOD LUCK!!! Now...to find my OWN crazy cat-stealing old lady neighbor.....hmmmmmm.......

Honeydoll and Andora do you live near each other. That is too weird you both have the same crazy cat lady.

No, I'm in Ohio. Maybe our crazy cat lady has a cousin?! It does seem awful coincidental? By the way we collar our cats, she knows there ours because of the tags on them. How could she not? My phone number is on the tag. My cats were all fixed so she has no way of not knowing. There are so many drop offs in this area, everyone has strays show up. They are usually skinny and stuff, I can tell they are stray. She just enjoys hurting people. As far as keeping them indoors only, I feel that's sort of mean. They are animals and deserve some freedom just as my chickens do, or horses or racoons. IMO LOL:hugs

Ah, gotta hate those neighbors.

My Aunt's neighbor will call the police if a plank of wood is leaned against her fence.

Another neighbor we knew would call anyone on vacation who received any mail, asking if she could open it.

Maybe another cousin at my way in Ohio. We had a cat lady here too. Our only problem was they video taped everything. Driving down the road, vet visits,( I worked for their vet) you name it, it was taped. If the cat was sitten beside the road they would take it. My inlaws live diagonally across the street from of and sil lives on our right side. My other neighbor I went to school with the wife and hubby went to school with her hubby. We all have cats, ours are fixed and theres were not. They thought that was cruel. Well low and behold we ended up with unfixed cats and kittens while ours disappeared. When they lost their house out came all the cats they caged up. There are crazy people everywhere.
