Neighbors dog messing around my coop

Paintball guns sounds like a fun way to keep the mutts away. I wonder if you can get some multicolored paintballs and make that dog into from a Border Collie into a Jackson Pollock.

I have always wanted to get some of those bath oil ball things to use in the gun. Do they still make those. I though it would be great to tag the fox with like a lavender ball. That'll learn him. I would pay to see the fox try to get the scent off.

The neighbor gets one chance to correct the problem, providing I can identify the dog and owner. Then I take over. My solution to harassment of my flock is harsh and permanent. This applies to wildlife predators as well. Sorry, too much time and money invested to have it destoyed.

Them marlins are something special....yes?

I have a williams peep sight on mine. I like to use 100 grain half jacket bullets with mine, a 30-30. The light loads are fun to shoot and that half jacket bullet seems to explode on impact making it deadly on those pesky coons that attack my chickens.

Galaxie - you remind me of my dh. That's what he looked like just yesterday. We have a new neighbor who can't keep control of their rottweiler. He has been up several times and is running loose during the wee hours of the night as well. This is not our only problem with this new neighbor (they have trespassed with their friends and dumped a truckload of stone on our property to make a parking pad). Needless to say, we had the cops there to get the stone cleaned up and warn them about the trespass and the dog a few times. We were trying to be civil but they just don't care.

Then yesterday the dog was up here again. My husband chased it down with the gun and went to the neighbor and said this is your last warning..next time it's being put down. They have already been told by the state police that we have the right to shoot their dog and apparently they don't care. Now, we are animal lovers and really don't want to do this, but to protect my farm, our dd and my dogs, we certainly will on the 3rd strike.

It really is a shame that some dog owners don't do the right thing by their animals. The poor dog doesn't know any better and will suffer because of the ignorant owners. Sometimes this is the only way to deal with the situation, as hard as it may be.

I guess I need to re-think my ammo choice for the .30-.30 I just went and checked what I have and it seems 170 grain soft nose may be a little heavy. Time to get more ammo. As far as my Marlin goes, great shooting gun, and the scope is zeroed for 50 yards. Just right to cover the yard from my deck.

Silly galaxie_man its always time to get more ammo. Do you know anybody who has ENOUGH ammo? We just make furniture out of the ammo cans. My scanner sits on 2 cases of .30-06
