Exactly what the title says....

I have been raising guineas since little keets and they are now almost 11 weeks old. We have had them outside in their own big coop for the past five weeks and we just began letting them free range a little. They have absolutely loved it. We were planning on starting to let them out everyday until a new guinea showed up. It is a much older guinea and from the sounds, I can tell it is a male. It is actually smaller than my alpha male, but bigger than the other 3 guineas. It comes over every morning and hangs out outside the coop until the late evening when it goes home. I figured this would be no problem, so we allowed the guineas to mingle. The first thing it did was go after our alpha male. Our male does not fight back and instead just runs and tries to get back in the coop. The neighbor's guinea has pecked some feathers off of our guinea, and I don't want our guinea to get hurt. The neighbor's guinea also attacked our 11 week old rooster, so it is obviously an aggressive bird.

So, is there a way to bring peace? Should I just let the two males figure things out on their own? I definitely don't want my chickens getting hurt and it's obvious the neighbor's guinea shows know interest in our other male or 2 other female guineas. Thoughts?

Go to the neighbor, let them know the bird is a nuisance animal on your property and that they can contain their bird or you will take necessary steps to protect your birds on your property.

ETA - it should go without saying, of course, that the flip side of this is that you will then also need to take appropriate steps to assure your birds are contained on your property at all times.

I did consider this, but I honestly haven't met my neighbor and don't think they are interested in meeting my wife or I. We have lived here a year and still have yet to even see them. I live on 7 acres and the neighbors lot is 9 acres.

Is it not possible to have the guineas get along or does it just not work that way?

1. Call animal control and report the nuisance animal and let them tell you how to proceed.

You know guineas are known to just disappear. *wink, wink* (I'd just either let the city trap it or shoot it.) The neighbor will never know.
