Sad that you are dealing with this situation! People need to be responsible for their pets. Letting the authorities handle the situation is the best thing you can do, but I would agree with putting up a camera facing your backyard. Good luck!!!

sorry that you are having to deal with this. You have done the proper thing by contacting Animal Control. Talk with the animal control agent about possible liability on your part.

Great advice. I agree with another post about putting up a game camera up if you have one. One picture could be invaluable. Good luck...
