I was just reading my newest issue of Countryside Magazine, and there's an article in there about nematodes in the garden. The best way to get rid of them is compost, and guess what?? There is beneficial bacteria and fungus in the compost, especially if it contains rabbit or chicken manure, that eats the nematodes.
One more reason to say "Yeah, chickens!!!"
