Hello, I am new to this chicken thing and have a 5 1/2 week chick with a swollen eye. I have been told to use Neosporin. Is that safe to put in the eye? I have been using a warm compress and a probiotic with no success, any advice from a experienced chicken keeper? Thank you all so very much :)

I think that should be fine, but you might want to get a proper medicated eye drop from a vet. If you want to use the neosporin, just make sure it isn't the numbing kind that has lidocaine or benzocaine in it ( or any -caine) as these are toxic to chickens.

Hi and I thank you so much! I Just was not sure if it would hurt the eyeball or not. His little eye is just swollen shut poor little sweetie. Thank you for the quick reply. Julie
