I have a similar story about my Cousin. Such AMAZING logic this kid has:

His name is Matthew, mom is Maria:

When he was 4 years old they were walking through Toys R Us one day. Up until this point his mom Maria had forbid him from owning anything even remotely close to a gun, even toy guns... So while at the store he asks: "Why can't I have a gun", and Maria says "because I am scared of them". So Matthew is walking through the isle and picks up a toy dinosaur, he says "mommy are you afraid of this?" and she says "no". He asks why, and she says "because it's just a toy". He walks a long some more and picks up two or three other random items and asks the same thing, always the same answer "no I'm not afraid of it because it's a toy"... finally he walks over to the toy guns and picks one up and says "Mom, it's just a toy"...

What a good laugh, I needed that~! But I agree with you on a little quick with the gun solves everything to him. I don't think this is a kid you would give a BB gun to until he's 25! I never allowed Steven to have toy guns, I don't consider guns toys, but I also gave him a 22 for his 14th birthday because he respected weapons. He knew animals are not for target practice, you don't point at anyone etc. We'll probably see Landon on one of those weekly hunting shows later!

Landon's dad is an avid hunter, and is VERY much into gun safety and respect for the rules / proper use of firearms. I am sure he will instill those values in Landon (and make sure he knows gerbils and other pets are off limits --

) I personally couldn't shoot ANYTHING with anything besides a camera unless it was a mercy killing, but that's just the way I am. My not wanting to hunt or kill anything doesn't keep me from enjoying venison when someone offers it to me. (or beef, pork, chicken, fish, etc. )
