There are 6gm of protein in an egg, and everything you need to build a baby chicken is in there. Physiologically there isn't much difference between a baby chicken and a baby human - the same building blocks are needed.
Plus there are some nutrients (choline, for example) that are in eggs that are not in many other foods readily available.
Eat those eggs!! And home grown eggs are just as 'safe' or much safer than store bought.
