Nervous about the cold.....

Ok, as a first timer, I'm über worried about my babies!! Granted they are not babies they are basically 8-9 months old... BUT this will be the longest winter of my lifetime!!! I'm afraid to put a heat lamp in my coop, but I'm afraid not to!! It's supposed to be below zero this week and I worry worry worry!! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAH!! I never would have imagined that these feathered babies would cause me so much love and concern!!!

If you haven't had heat on them...they'll be fine! It was below zero here and my chickens were fine, even the leghorns and gold stars. (A less cold hardy breed.)

I live in MN, and it gets in the double-digits (sometimes 20's and 30's) below zero for extended periods. I have no heat or insulation in my coops. I do make sure they have plenty of water and feed and good, deep bedding.
