So does anyone else get nervous at the end of the incubator cycle? Lockdown starts tomorrow, and I just have a dreadful feeling that none will hatch! Tell me I'm not alone!

i am so nervous when i go into lockdown im in lockdown now for some silkies and im so nervous i have to keep running back to the bator and checking the tempreture and the humidity but there is a chance they wont hatch its only my second hatch and my first failed

I've only done it twice. My DH says I get all upset over nothing. Last time I wanted to throw the whole thing away and it was only day 16-17. Everyone hatched the 17th night/18th day. I cannot wait until my group starts to lay so I can start again!!!

Good luck with your hatch!!!! Post PIX!!!

This is my third clutch of eggs. The 1st, I had a 25% hatch rate, the 2nd, I baked the poor little buggers, so not one hatched. This time I have been checking so often it hurts. I'm nervous, b/c they were shipped and placed on the side deck we never use, and stayed out all night when the temps were in the low 40s. Then I let the humidity run low one morning. ugh! These next few days can't go by fast enough!

dont worry secret quail we will suffer this together im suffering too i have a home made bator and half way through one night the special plastic fell away from the window so the temp dropped low they where still alive and kicking day 18 but you never now with this hatching buisiness everything and anything can go wrong and to me it normally does

Not alone there, today is day 16 and I'm at work so I don't know yet if any have hatch yet! My humidity dropped one morning to 16% so I'm not really optimistic, but I would really like to see something hatch as this is my first hatch!

oh no! Crash, you have to tell me if you get any to hatch....my humidity went down to around 26. Good Luck! I just wish I would start to hear little peepers.

oh no! I would keep going. Give them a few more days. You said you were on day 18? If you have any hatch, they should be out soon. Not sure about the temp. If it was such a short time, it MIGHT be ok. Have you tried candling them? I never have luck with it, but it is worth a shot.
