Nest box- How high up should they be?

I have a completed coop- but I have been looking at other peoples photos of coops and other then just being jealous of all the super cool coops, I am now worried my nesting boxes are to low to the ground. Here are a couple photos I took of the inside of the coop the other day...

If my boxes are to low, what can I do to fix this problem?

Also- are my Boxes to open?? Maybe I should add a lip to the bottom?

My hen chose her nesting site on the floor of a 34gallon tub - turned on it's side. I supplied plenty of hay that she piled high, formed the prettiest quilt. She looked like a queen while she was setting on her eggs.

I suppose an extra board added to the front of your nesting boxes might be a wise idea.
