I have been using talc buckets which are similar to the cat litter boxes. I framed them into the storage area wall so that I don't have to go into the area of the coop where the chickens are to collect the eggs. I just used the lid as a door to access the eggs, then cut the bottom out and left a lip to hold the bedding in. Works good except they are a little small.

Once they start eating eggs, they won't stop. Ever. If you don't want to cull the birds that are eating eggs... then I would build a Roll Out nest box and get rid of any other nests. The eggs roll away and land in a safe covered area so the birds can't eat your eggs anymore. Opa has the plans for the box here on BYC.

I read somewhere that you can hollow out an egg and put spicy nasty stuff inside and once they taste that it might break them of the habit.
