Nest box size?

If you didn't already start... we have 3 nest boxes. They are each about 14" wide. I have 6 hens. Lost one recently. Anyway, they almost always use just one nest. And it varies from day to day which one they use. Depending on how many chicks you have, you might not need that many nests. You might also try a group nest. That way they can share their favorite. Good luck.

Question for you What do you mean by a 'group nest'? I am having to re-design my nesting boxes as my girls are not a fan of what I currently have.... So trying to look into other designs.

We have three nest boxes. All about 14" wide. Right next to each other. I am suggesting take out one of the walls. Then you would have a 28" box and a 14". The 28" would allow multiples in at ther same time.
