Nest box/ teepee?

Screws/nails would be better options for overall construction. For attaching hardware cloth, screws with fender washers are ideal if sandwiching wood isn't the route you want to go.

You can get some pretty hot days then, so ample ventilation is a must. The heat will be a much bigger issue than the cold. I have floor level vents but not vents in the floor... honestly not sure how well putting ventilation in the floor itself would work.

Ok i read about pdz on here and got some.
I spread it around today in the coop, but i think i cant have a floor grate, pdz on the floor, and also a flat, easy to clean base like i want. Do you think the close to the floor vents are a good thing in your coop? I've never understood the "you want ventilation, but not drafts" saying.

I got floor vents (2 of them) because my coop builder (actually a shed company) suggested it. Honestly can't say if they make a difference or not.

One of the floor vents circled in red below. That wall faces my predominant wind direction, which is why there's no window on that side. Note I also have a gable vent above that, plus 5 windows, a ridge vent and (not visible) under eave vents. So lots of ventilation, but if I go stand inside the coop on a very windy day, there is little to no noticeable wind flow inside - that's having ventilation without drafts.

Ah, i was forgetting my other questions about nest boxes!
1 do they need to be floor level?
2 why the angled top? What's the problem with chickens on top of the nest box?

1. No, they can be any height as long as they can access them.
2. NatJ got it, I don't want them sitting on top and pooping.
