I really wanted a new setup for my nest boxes, so I found a used cube storage cubby for $20 on Facebook Marketplace and added boards to the front of each row to keep shavings in. I spray painted a cardboard box and cut it up, stapled it to the holes in the back. Screwed an angled board up top to prevent roosting, and put a decal on it. I had the fabric already, just stapled that on, too. Overall cost was $30 for the whole thing. So far only one of my White Leghorns has actually used it. I'm hoping that will increase soon! Edith, my Salmon Faverolle juvenile pullet, is pictured. Inspiration picture included, too. How Precious! That looks similar to mine - but I really have some bright colors on mine- I love the white paint and the writing!

Great idea! I used an old cabinet turned sideways for my first next boxes, only had three hens. My new boxes for the new hen house are home made. When my hen house is finished I'll take a bunch of pictures.
