I really wanted a new setup for my nest boxes, so I found a used cube storage cubby for $20 on Facebook Marketplace and added boards to the front of each row to keep shavings in. I spray painted a cardboard box and cut it up, stapled it to the holes in the back. Screwed an angled board up top to prevent roosting, and put a decal on it. I had the fabric already, just stapled that on, too. Overall cost was $30 for the whole thing. So far only one of my White Leghorns has actually used it. I'm hoping that will increase soon! Edith, my Salmon Faverolle juvenile pullet, is pictured. Inspiration picture included, too.
