I recently adopted some 2 year old geese. I was told that 2 were laying eggs regularly. But, I haven't gotten any eggs from them in the week I've had them. Should I set up some kind of nest for them to lay their eggs in? Could there be another reason why they aren't laying? Any help would be appreciated.

Two reasons possible, you are pretty much at the end of their laying season, they don't have extended seasons like many duck breeds. 2 many waterfowl tend to quit laying when moved to a new set up, they may start again once they feel at home.

What goosedragon said plus, what kind of area are you keeping them in? If they have access to any kind of cover like tall grass, weeds or places to hide, they will hide their eggs. It can get to be a real egg hunt if they are not in a pen with a nest in it.

A dog house or other similar type thing works well for a nest box. In the right size of course....

That is more for next spring when they will more likely be laying.

Oh ok I didn't know about their laying season. Right now they are in a pen with a dog house so they know where "home" is. But, I'm planning on letting them free range pretty soon and they'll have access to a pond and a field with tall grass so hopefully, they'll feel more comfortable then. Thanks for the help
