I just got 10 RIR about 11 months old and put them in the new coop 6X8. They have been in there for 4 days but they lay eggs every where but the nesting box. We have 3 boxs about 13X13X13. I put straw in it and also pine chips. The boxs are up about 8'" and the first roost is at 11" the floor is covered with pine chips. I also noticed that I have not seen them on the roost at all. Any ideas on what I can do to get them to lay in the boxs.

Try putting a golf ball in each nest box... I know it sounds silly, but it worked for me! The golf balls have the added advantage (over a fake egg) because if a chicken pecks at it, it will bounce back and help break any possible cycle of egg eating.
