I have a 24/7 free range hen that is not people friendly who has made her nest under my next door neighbor's car that they don't drive often. Of course, out of 28 ~ she'll be lucky to hatch half. They are due sometime next week.

My question is ~ once they hatch, what is a safe and proper way to net these chicks. They won't survive and I can't risk all the roosters that may come. (Last year, all 10 dissappeared within days) My friend owns a feed store who will sell them for me.

Thanks!!!

Night time is best. If you can figure out where she's brooding them at night (prob. at or close to where she is now) you can catch them then.

Chances are she'll take them deep into the woods like she has in the past ... that's why I'll probably have to catch them when she comes out for scratch feed.

Although it would be nice if I can find her at night. Sure would make it easier!!!
