This will be my second year with peahens old enough to lay. Last year they ignored the shelving possibilities inside. One started laying in a corner of the run, so I put up some boards to protect from elements. That was rejected and the hens just laid their eggs randomly around the run. High loss to predators. I was able to collect most eggs, then used my Muscovy ducks to sit on them. sshh - don't tell the ducks. Worked well as long as I found the eggs at the first sign of hatching and finished hatching them inside.
I need some information on what peahens would use. Nesting box? On the ground, elevated?

This might work.

Thanks. The picture is very helpful. Right now their run is open on all sides. I'm thinking, since they don't seem to want to lay inside, that I could provide a wind break for a corner of the run and put boxes there.
