nesting box ?? from a newbie

Question--we are building the mini coop (4'X8') with 8 hens..we are hanging exterior nesting boxes...would you recommend 2 or 3 nesting boxes?? Appreciate the help

While I agree with Chickenteacher, realize, that they'll usually only use one or two of the three you build. Once one hen lays an egg in one nest box, they all seem to want to add to that collection.

We have two boxes for six hens and it does get a little busy sometimes. If space is not a considerations, build 3! Best of luck with you hen project!
