Ridgerunner's page is great. We followed it as a guide for our first 4 nest boxes. Then I needed more, and we had no more scrap wood, and the girls wouldn't use 5 gallon pails or milk crates. So I went hunting for cubbies/enclosed milk crates and found something in target. I posted it a while back. They sell a little drawer that goes into them, but I stole the dishpan idea from others here at BYC.

Photos of it in my coop are on page 2, post # 16. If I just had a few hens, I would have gone with the cat box idea, that seems easy, neat, and looks good.
