Nesting box issue

Built a coop for my new flock and the coop has one issue. The nesting box roof I built is not steep enough and the hens are getting on top and popping. Any ideas of how to keep them off without having to rebuild? Any help would be appreciated!

Put things there that are in the way. Fill a couple of milk jugs with water and set them up there. Or, nail a couple of empty ones up there. Anything lying around that they can't easily rest on.
