Nesting box location

Building a new coop but need guidance
on the nesting boxes. Should they be inside
the coop or outside?? Also I can get my
hands on a metal contraption from my in-laws
that currently hangs on the side of a shed.
It basically is a long nesting box mad of metal
that is 3 rows high. Any thoughts??

A lot of folks like the opening to be on the outside of the coop so they don't have to enter the coop.
I have the catalog type I bought at an auction. I like them inside because it makes me go in and that way I can keep an eye on the hens and cleanliness etc.
It really is a matter of preference and ability to incorporate into coop.
