Nesting box material

Do you have a photo of your coop?
I use pine shavings in the main part of the coop and straw in the nesting boxes. I get straw by the bag from the feed store and keep it next to the boxes so it can be easily replenished if needed.

Does the sand act as oyster grit for the chickens?
No.
Oyster shells are for calcium.
Granite Grit is for digestion within the gizzard.

Sure do!
Here is the inside of the coop- nesting boxes have straw in them. Coop has pine shavings. Roosting bars (We've since added wire to the top of the coop between the coop and the run. And then a photo of our whole chicken coop/run (we have hardware cloth buried and covered with gravel around the entire coop/run and stairs to the red door)
