One of the many things I love about BYC are the great ideas that people have to make their chicken coops work in their situation. There are always innovative ideas to help anyone find solutions for them.
Here's mine in the construction stages. This picture is from the chickens side.
I have my coop designed so I can walk into one side and collect the eggs while standing inside the building. That way, in bad weather, we aren't standing out in the rain or a snowstorm collecting eggs. Also, my kids help all the time and if they accidentally leave the nest box door open (and they have), the chickens can only get through to the people side where they are still safe and sound.
Here's the people side before adding the doors.
This is with the door on and opened: (the top and bottom boxes have a separate door):
Those dimensions are about what I estimated from your photo, but that helps having the actual measurements. I am going to borrow your design the next time I have to build nests. Should be nearly free with the materials I have laying around. I even have some old barn siding.
Popeye is an old coastie like me, thats why I use that avatar. Most people don't know he was in the Coast Guard in the first cartoons. But I do like spinach, and sometimes I can trick my kids into eating it.

Sounds like you use the same kind of nesting boxes I use . I line them up ( upright position ) side by side and my girls love them and plenty of room .
