So glad you asked this question domihentrix! We are getting ready to build our nest boxes soon and need ideas.

Great concepts!! I think I might go with the dish tub idea. We have about 5 of those unused sitting around the house! I might have never thought to use them if I hadn't seen you post, Will!!

I too would love to see more nestboxes!!

Here's mine. It has worked great so far. All the eggs have been in the top tier, which is what I hoped would happen. It's nice for my kids to be able to access eggs without entering the actual coop. Keeps thier shoes clean.

Since this picture, I have removed the ramp, and replaced straw w/ pine shavings. The cubby to the left (on the last picture) is a single that is larger than the rest. If I ever have a hen hatch eggs, that is where I hope it will take place.

The slanted roof is hinged for easy cleaning access.

I used wills idea also, except the darn girls did not like them so I converted them into this and they have been faithfully using them.
