I'm building a new coop and run for my chickens (larger than the last". The coop itself is going to be 8 long, 4 high 6 deep.....Im wanting to attach the nesting boxes on the outside of the coop (still fenced and covered). My question is, will I get better production if the boxes are within the coop or does it matter? Thank you in advance

It does not matter. Your chickens won't know the difference. An outside nest box will be great for getting the eggs without having to enter the coop. Be sure the door latch to the nest box is varmint proof: If a 2 year old could open it, a raccoon could also.
