Ive been using milk crates for my nesting boxes up until recently. My buddy gave me 2 "nesting box sets" for free so I figured I would check them out. For obvious reasons to me, the girls dont like them because they are too narrow... I was wondering if these are really nesting boxes or if they are something else entirely. Attached is a picture.

they are only 6" wide... I know most chickens prefer a nice 12x12

I can't see how anything bigger than a small bantam would fit. Not sure if even they'd want to use it. :idunno If your milk crates were being used by your hens, I'd just stick with those.

I mean, I'd put purses in that maybe... tiny purses.

They just look like nesting boxes....but they were meant for something else.

Once you have chickens, you see things everywhere that spark you to think....
...."I could use that for the chickens!!"
9 times out of 10, upon closer inspection, not going to work.

Ugh it's so bad. Everytime I go jogging by someone's "free" pile on a curb, I have to slow down and eyeball it all and wonder if the chickens would want it...
