Nesting box size (ducks)

What mine do is lay until they get the amount they like it could be 4-whatever but usually the largest I've let them sit was 8. Once they begin to brood they will move the eggs around to their liking They'll cover them when they leave the nest come back rearrange the eggs. As far as you taking the eggs and putting the in a nice area and hoping they will brood them well it might be a nice area to you but maybe not to the duck. If the eggs are being laid in a secure location I'd go in when she is out and mark the eggs in there I use a washable marker. you can make it simple like 1- or date, then when she has finally laid all the ones she feels are enough and begins to brood you can go in and remove the nasty ones and oldest ones so she has a better chance at a good hatch. How many eggs in there now?
Miss Lydia the ducks haven't even come yet. They are coming as ducklings the 24th. We will have 3 welsh harlequin females, 2 golden 300 hybrid females, 1 drake golden 300 hybrid. The welsh will sit on the golden 300's eggs. I was hoping the drake would only breed his on breed. Does that tend to happen since I (think) have the right drake to hen ratio. Thanks
Sorry for any confusion but this thread was about making the coop for my ducks and see if I needed a box and what size. Then we started talking about breeding them, which I intend to do.

Your drake will breed all the ducks and not just stick to one breed. Each drake should have 3-5 females give or take to prevent over breeding. Sometimes they will still have a favorite though so you have to watch out for that, but count on all of them being breed by a single drake. If you don't want that you will have to seprate them.
