We will be getting Australorps and Brahmas for our coop. I know they are bigger than Bantams. But I wasn't sure how tall the nesting space should be? Lots of info about the suggested width and depth - but not the height of nest boxes. And pretty much no info about how tall a particular breed gets. (Lots of info about weight and egg color!)
Was thinking about making the nest boxes about 15" wide x 19" deep x 12" tall, and using cat litter boxes as inserts to hold all the bedding in.
Is 12" about right? Or should I allow more space for them?
