Nesting Box vs. Roost

I am not sure if this is normal. Two of our hens have been laying for weeks in the nesting boxes. All of a sudden they started to lay from their roost, which cracks the eggs. Any idea why they are doing that, and how do I get them back into their nesting boxes? Thank you in advance.

This happens from time to time but has been more common with us when the pullets first start laying. They have always fixed it themselves here with us.

MIne have been laying since mid December-- every now and then I find a couple on the floor under the roosts-- but since I have a think layer of straw down on the floor of the coop ( I have a set of chicks with their mom on the floor)... so they dont break.......
