nesting box

How does one keep nesting material in the box? I have tried a lot of different stuff and they kick it all out within 2 days making clean out of coop a weekly event.

Coop cleaning should be done at given at least a minor cleaning every week anyway. As for the kicking out, are your nesting boxes big enough to allow for some natural kicking? Many standard boxes aren't. I use a storage tupperware box as one with a side cut out. With the larger box, all of the normal kicking doesn't kick the material out.

SHOULD BE QUITE EASY.... Your nesting box should have a board stop on the front bottom about 4 inches or so. Use hay or straw, and it will stay in place. The chickens should just walk in and make themselves comfortable and lay there. Once finished, they should just jump out and go about their activities. Hay or straw is ideal since it forms a nest which chickens do like.
