nesting box

I made a nest box out of an old corn crate 16"x12" no top ,layered in hay and pine chips. attached it to the wall put in 3 ping pong balls. My girl looked but did not touch. This is a good thing , right?

Hmm... I don't know. I'm pretty knew myself. How old is she though? Are you just trying to get her ready still?

I just put a nesting box with no top in my coop for a 7 month old who won't lay. My dad is bringing me some golf balls tonight to get her interested in the box.

I did put her in the box this afternoon (as a storm is coming in) and she stayed there for a good hour.

I have 5 hens and they should be laying in late september. this is just to get them to know what it is for
