Nesting boxes inside or out?

We are in the middle of building our new 6x6 coop and can't decide if we should have outside access to the nesting boxes or not. Other than having to walk inside, is there any other benefit to having outside access to the boxes? Thanks for all the help!

outside nest box doors make it easy to collect the eggs, but if the doors are not tightly and heavily secured, predators can open them and get into your coop. I would suggest a locking latch if you do outside access.

Our nest boxes are currently on the inside of our 8x8 coop. However, it is a pain because every time I go to get eggs, I have to get into my barn boots or else I get chicken poo on my shoes. We are going to be starting on a new coop within the next few weeks and this time we will be putting them on the outside. This will save space inside the coop the new coop will be located right next to my driveway, so I can just grab them and go. We will be putting good latches on the doors though so nothing can get in there. I am also thinking about putting those child proof locks for kitchen cupboards on the nest box doors as well. Double security that way.
