Nesting Boxes

How many nesting boxes should I have for six chickens?

One really big one. It seems that, no mater how many nest boxes, they all want to lay in the same one

I would recommend that you provide two, but they may all lay in one. Hens seem to prefer and secluded place to lay their eggs in and while many folks get along just fine with a communal nest, I've found they will take to laying where you want them to quicker with individual nests.

A max of 2 (give them a choice) besides I have a pair of hens that range together, lay eggs together and roost together? Nobody ever accused chickens of being normal

Howdy, I was just given a building that was a huge dble dog house. Its 5'x3' & over 5' tall. looking

4 ideas on nesting box's.
Going to put the roosting pole each end & the box's in the middle along the back wall
