nesting boxes

if i add a 2 foot by 6 foot nesting box to the out side of my coop with a roof that opens to pick eggs does this add to my square footage i have 33 13 hens will this allow me to have more chickens?

No. And BTW you really don't want the hens in those boxes unless they are laying. We kept ours blocked until we got our first egg.



Do you have one large nest box or several small ones? We decided to go with a "communal" box that's 14"x29" with an opening in the center so they can go to either side to lay. I decided on this size because we have two very large hens but now think I could have gone smaller.
