Nesting boxes?

OK, so I'm trying to figure out where to put my nesting boxes. A chix expert I know told me to face them either north or west. If it's inside the coop under the poop drawer, what does it matter? Our coop is insulated too, so does it matter?

not really some people so that so that its darker. You can put a nesting box anywhere just make sure its below your roost or the might start sleeping in it.

Thanks! Yes it will be way under the boards so it'll be snug and cozy for them
