Nesting Boxes

I have been using milk crates for nesting boxes but the hens kick out all the straw in a day. Any thoughts on what i could line them with to keep this from happening?

Old carpet or any thing else they can scrape at but not pull out that fits good in the box

well its a bit hard for anything sense hens will kick it out just because she is making a nest

Add a piece of wood or some sort of sturdy material as a lip at the bottom of the box so the bedding as something to catch on when they move things around. It won't keep everything in but it makes a big difference.

I have the floor of my nests lined with a folded feed bag (nest box is 12 inches³) milk crates with a board across the front.

I replace the feed bag when ever necessary no problems easy peasy!
