Nesting boxes

Any advice?? Pine chips or straw in the nesting boxes??

We just use regular hay in the boxes and they like it fine, use pine shavings in rest of coop.

I have base of pine shavings topped with a good amount of hay that I "borrow" from the horses. I use deep litter method in my coop, so when I freshen the nests I just scoop the old stuff out onto the coop floor and put in new lining materiel.

That's exactly what I do too, with straw.

I use golf mats, piece of cake to clean, just shake it off daily.
