Nesting Material of Death

I threw out the labeling sorry, but I posted a picture earlier on of what it looks like. It might be fine, like I said I'm just guessing what might be wrong with my bird. But I do think it's an odd coincidence that the same thing happened twice with two different birds months apart the second I put the material in.

I’m sorry you’re having health problems with your girls. I have used these very nesting pads for four years and have had no problems whatsoever.

Could there possibly be something else going on that could be just coincidental?

If you suspect it's the nesting pads, then stop using them. It's not about what's been fine for others. There can be reasons that they work for most, but not all.

I checked on her this morning, and she was acting better! Definitely not 100%, because she wis still sluggish and quiet. But I did watch her take a few small nibbles at her food, which I take as a good sign. So should I just wait this out and hope she gets better? I wish they could just say what was wrong lol! I only have 3 other hens in that coop so it's possible none of the others had gotten to the material yet. And yes, after the first one died I took out the material because it had been soiled, and I didn't use it till just now. I don't think she has any underlying issues, although I know the first one had an impacted crop a few months before she got sick. They're all Faverolles.
Did she poop overnight? What does that look like?
Crop empty this morning?
Did you feel for an egg?
If she's still acting off, make sure she's drinking well and monitor her. I like to leave mine with the flock if they are not picked at.

Just because you haven't seen her lay an egg doesn't mean she in't egg bound. She could have tired to lay her first egg, then since he is a new layer, it got stuck causing binding. Could also be a crushed egg, but with her tail down in the picture, it makes me think egg issue. You NEED to feel for a stuck egg. What is her poop like? We NEED to know what that is like. Feel her crop and abdomen between her legs. Is it hard, squishy, doughy, full, empty?
