Hello,

I am on my third type of nesting material...shavings rubbish they just throw them out...Straw/grass, better but lasts a day then they eat it or destroy it...Woodchips, made the eggs very dirty

What do you use? I need somehting, I find with no nesting material they (the light brahma and white cochin) eat the eggs... they eat more eggs than I do!

Thanks

I'm using pine shavings in my nest box. I have a 2" lip on the front of the boxes. They move the chips around but haven't scratched them out. I just got my first egg last saturday and got my first egg actually laid in the nest box this afternoon.

I use spanish moss. Eveything else I tried went out of the nest boxes including eggs. Not so with the spanish moss. I live in Florida where it is very abundant so I just go get it off some trees.
