Hello, just wondering if it would be ok to use my household shred (bills, letters, etc.) for my nesting boxes? I want to be sure it won't harm my grown chickens. Does anyone know? Thank you
Not an expert here by no means but.... I use shredded bills and newspaper. I take out the plastic from the envelope windows so they don't eat it seeing it's something shiny before I shred. I mix the bills with the newspaper shreds, sprinkle some food grade diatomatious earth over the top, and when it's used up I put it as mulch in the garden. So far I haven't hurt any of my chickens or my plants.
