We are working on fly control.
There are environmental steps we are taking:
Working to keep the run dry is our biggest issue since there was rain we also found a water leak which soaked part of the run. It has construction sand for the floor over concrete. It does seem to drain eventually and doesn't pool during the rainy season. However under the surface is a bit wet still when I stir it around.
1st question: Any recommendations for drainage over concrete for the run with sand.
2nd question: will using mosquito netting around the run (it is covered) help keep flies out so they can't get in to lay eggs etc? Would that be an issue for ventilation?
There was a huge fly growth recently. I just bought fly eliminators from Arbico Organics so did release a week or two back. Hopeful this keeps the numbers down. It's starting to warm up so hopefully the area will dry up soon.
Any other suggestions we could use for fly control? Attaching pics of the run.
Thanks in advance.
