The local TSC gave me "Bubbles" since he wasn't doing well and want able to be with the general population. He falls down often, walks sideways and when held he holds his head to the side! I've never had a chick/duckling do this but have heard of wry neck so I started him on "save a chick" electrolytes and pro biotic with a small dose of emergence-c because it has niacin in it. What do you this it could be? What should I do? :) Thanks in advance!

I don't have any experience with ducks, but I do know that I had a baby chick that would act like that and fall over. The next day she had started a new thing where she would put her head between her legs and back up until she fell over. I took her to an vet about an hour away who handles birds and her checked out. The vet gave her a shot of vitamin B and calcium. I was also sent home with an antibiotic. She was a little better after having the shots, I now have liquid vitamin B on hand to give to baby chicks in their water.
The vitamin B has saved many of my chicks lives. In the end it all depends on how much you really love this little animal, I spent $89 to take my little chick to the vet but she also became my best egg layer. I personally would take it to a vet that specializes in birds, or at least call them. I would keep Bubbles on the electrolytes and it couldn't hurt to put a couple drops of liquid Vitamin B in it's drinking water. Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you, I hope that Bubbles makes it out okay it is awfully cute!!!

It could be wry neck and you can try treating as such. With wry neck (I've had four cases and have been successful in curing them) I follow Alan Stanfords treatment plan to a tee. You can find his treatment plan schedules and doses by going to browneggblueegg.com and look under articles, then look under crookneck. He speaks specifically of silkies but I believe the treatment has also been successful with ducks. Basically it consists of vitamin E, and vitamin B, selenium, and polyvisol liquid children's vitamin without iron. You can stop there or add predinsone if avaible. I've used the predinsone in all my cases because they were severe. Wry neck can be completely cured but it takes patients on your part and a good month of consecutive treatment. Please take a look at the web site I've directed you too. This treatment by alan has cured four cases in my own flock and it is very successful when you follow it to a tee. Hopefully this will help your duck. I've talked to folks with ducks who has used this treatment and was successful. You can try it and see how it fares with your duck. Remember it takes a good month for the treatment to be sucessful. She might need help eating and drinking during this time. I wish you the vet best sometime they get worse before They get better and this is when patients come in to play. Dont give up and follow the treatment to a tee and hopefully within a month she will be cured completely. Give it a try. I wish you the best.
