For those of you that are getting chicks from me, here is a picture of the first chick to hatch today

Not very pretty at this wet stage but it will fluff up and be cute in no time

It is a wheaten Ameraucana. There are 2 buff x wheaten, 2 wheaten, 2 lavender and one blue wheaten egg pipped right now.

It is really nippy out there today. No one wanted to go out and collect eggs while I was at work so i got to do it all by myself today. We got 6, including one welsummer. Someone else laid in the run again

but luckily it wasn't damaged at all.

Congratulations on the new babies Julie and Aubrey!!! How fun!

I have 3 pips this morning!!!

One is an OE and one is a Yokohama!!! The other is an unknown so very excited to see what happens. Late tonight is 21 days so they are right on schedule. I am having such a hard time pulling myself away from the bator. There are marks from my forehead all over the plexiglass. LOL Good day to stay inside and watch chicks hatch.

Aubrey!! Good News!!

So I told you I suspected that my first hatch of Petey's showgirls might be pure silkie because I had all the hens with my white Silkie roo before making a Show Girl pen......Well TahDah the very first chick to hatch lastnight was a FULL SHOWGIRL!!!! And with a bow tie too!!!

Skin Color is good too!! She is not completely fluffed out yet but appears to be white w/black or maybe white/silver down, So hard to tell at this stage... I have Petey in with a black hen and a white pullet.... I am so excited for this project to finally....HATCH!!!

I have 2-3 more S.G. eggs in there so fingers crossed

YOU should have some new S.G. babies soon!!! I will keep you posted later tonight!

AAhhhh!!!! Im so excited!!!!!! I <3 petey!!!

My back and neck are in knots, so hard to get in here for too long at one time. Kind of worried about my arm too. It's cold, but that hand is pretty warm. Hopefully just due to the mummy wrapping.

oh and Sunny, weve decided to name our Polish "Birthday Present" because shes my birthday present! (and im running very short on names, LOL) btw, we ended up naming our Olive Eggers Poppy and Lulu. I do not know why.
