our garage goes all the way through to the backyard, so we woud only need to get the pieces small enough to fit through the garage door. I honestly have no clue where to even begin building a shed. that sounds way too overwhelming. i guess we will just save up for a new one then

ACK!!! A new, already built one is way too expensive! Steve and I can get you started. I bet others here would chip in some labor too. You'd have to feed us all though... mmm spinach and pepperoni pizza sounds good. With olives and garlic bread as well.

well if you buy them from lowes or home depot i believe they come in pieces and you just put the pieces together. I am seriously overwhelmed b the thought of building a shed. i know if i just get one from home depot or whatever they might have free delivery and we could hopefully get it put together in a weekend.

With a few folks we could knock it together in one day minus nest boxes but you'd have to spend an extra day doing that anyway. And it would be much better quality! Those kits are such cruddy quality.

I swear do I stink or something? I've been trying to talk Genny into letting us build her one too and she keeps saying no also!

C'mon there is nothing wrong with accepting help once in awhile!

You'd have to supply those, too, Aubrey!

Ha ha ha ha ha! Yea don't look my way. Steve has a strong back though and I'm sure Markie can lift his own weight. For that matter Aubrey has some nice guns on her!

do you really think so?
dont worry ron, me an markie have VERY strong backs and could supply a few more! lol

so be frank...what do you think this would cost? i really want to budget for 500 bucks and have an at least 7x7 shed. we have a wood platform where an old shed used to be that looks to be about 5x8

We built ours for $400 so $500 should build you a nice coop. I can cut wood. You don't need a super strong back to do that or to use a nail gun (yes we will bring some tools as well since I am spoiled by my backsavers).

Do you have a couple ladders and shovels? If not we can bring them too just tryng to get and idea of scope.

You wouldn't want to go less than 8x8 'cause 8 foot is the standard length of 2x4s and sheets of plywood are 4x8. Less cutting, less waste. My 4x8 coop cost about $700 or so for all brand new materials, including paint, roofing, etc.

holy cow! 500 bucks? yours was huge!!! i cannot believe that you were able to get such a huge coop for so inexpensive!

weve got tons of tools, shovels, ladders etc. when my opa died my brother and i got his extensive collection of tools, saws, etc.
