NevadaRon: What are they besides too utterly adorable? I think I see some RIR in there, but what's the chipmunky ones? Sussex? EE's? Or does the feed store just have a mystery bin?
(Oops! Just read the post. Nevermind about the breeds. CUTE!)
Aubrey: Looks like no brunch on the patio today! Here in LV we just got a smattering of rain, not the big storm they predicted. And, for the most part, yesterday was lovely.... Had some friends from Michigan visiting and we spent the day at Hoover Dam doing the tourist thing. Of course, being from Michigan, they thought our weather was lovely.
I always admire people who are gutsy enough to really make a statement with their hair....and can color well. The last time I attempted to color mine myself I ended up looking like an inadvertent sunset. Sigh.... I am now color corrected to a blonde shade. One of these days I will get REALLY adventurous and let it grow out to its natural shade (which, according to my sister and mother the last time I did so, is something akin to "dead rat"...probably "grizzled dead rat" or "frosted dead rat" by now.)
Sunny: Related to engineers, but not one myself. However, I did take a few math courses in college, ergo the binary and -- when really pressed -- odds making (funny how I ended up in Vegas anyway, eh?). I while away my days as a court reporter (stenographer, not media) doing depositions in corporate settings. The subject matter can be pretty dry and I've been at it so long (25 years now) that I just go on auto-pilot and start either counting things in the room or constructing coops in my head. A lot of reporters in a similar frame of mind go shopping or plan vacations in their seat.... Once in *the zone* (very Zen), it's a restful job. It's the transcript production and proofreading afterwards (reliving the testimony again and again) that gets to be a drag.
By the time Mom got done yelling "Andrea Louise!" at some transgression, I was long gone. So it got shortened to "Andee" to "Dee." The latter stuck.
