Nevadans?

Good morning all, well no word on the chicks yet, but Jody(the breeder) said that they probably just forgot to scan the box and that it would probably be here today. She said she was surprised that they guaranteed it for yesterday because it usually takes longer. Heres hoping they are all ok. I look like Hell today because I couldnt sleep and when I did fall asleep I had PO nightmares!

I was recalling last night as I lay in bed - when I got my birds from CA - started/adult Mille Fleur Bantam Cochins - Lynne dropped them at the PO on like a Monday morning and I was not scheduled to get them until the following Wednesday morning. I was so pumped when the Reno PO called me Tuesday evening - I freaked at first, as it was after 5 and I am about an hour drive (ok, took me 40 minutes, maybe less but I was in a bit of a hurry

). I told the nice guy on the phone how far away I was, and he said - take your time, eat dinner if you need to, we are here all night.

Express is a 24 hour package - until you are shipping lives. And then it is a 48 to 72 hour package and there is no refund if it does not show in that time (nice little loop hole - yippy for the government).

for your sleepless, worry heavy night.

Well, at least your dreams have logic to them. I can understand the anxiety permeating your subconscious. Most likely all your nocturnal gyrations are for naught and your chicks arrive today none the worse for wear. Funny how by the time they arrive you've emotionally *earned* them. Hang tight!

Last night -- all night -- I had dreams about cheese. Tables of cheese. Cheese in every iteration: hard, soft, wheels, gushy, grating, sliced, cubed. I was the keeper of the cheese and had to concoct some sort of dish with the leftover cheese (I opted for a wood-fired flatbread with green chiles). What's it all mean? Heck if I know!

I am puzzled.... And, no, it's not because I have some cheese deficiency or craving or dairy aspirations. It was just lots and lots and lots of cheese.

Well they are here! They DID arrive yesterday morning and have been sitting at the Vista Post Office since then! Even though I called yesterday, and several other people called them too yesterday, but no one could find them! They were pushed off to the side and forgotten! I just picked them up so they are eating and drinking like crazy, a few seem weak, but alive! Poor babies! I am giving them time to eat, drink and warm up. YAY!!!!!

When you first described your dream I thought "she's going to win some money"!!! Apparently advertising execs have nested in my head. There used to be a commercial from the lottery in California where this guy is going through the supermarket (all you see are his hands and cart the camera angle is shot from his vision perspective) and he says "So it doesn't hit me til the next day when I'm at the supermarket. I was in the cheese aisle and I suddenly thought, wow I could buy all this cheese!"

Sunny....

I l-o-v-e-d that commercial! As a post-grad at that time, I could totally relate. And, several decades later, I've graduated from the ever-affordable Velveeta.

My husband thought it was because I wanted Wisconsin to win the playoffs. I was like "Wisconsin...what??!" I do not follow sports at all.... I don't even know which sport he's talking about.
